Corporate recruiters have applauded us for initiatives like:

  1. Industry Guest Sessions: Almost every week we invite a senior corporate professional to interact with our students. This exposure enables students to understand what it truly takes to succeed in the corporate world. We’ve had almost 50 industry sessions last year with various luminaries.
  2. Industry Visits: Once or twice a semester, our students visit companies to get a real understanding of the way they operate. Often, senior managers take out time to show our students around and interact with them. Some past visits have included:
  1. International Industry Tour: In the third semester, we cooperate to take our students on an international tour to Dubai or Singapore at student’s cost. These are the most international cities in Asia and will allow them to get a first hand understanding of how multinational companies operate in different market environments.
  2. Corporate Mentoring: We have partnered with SHRM (Society of Human Resource Managers India) to create a corporate mentoring program for our students. They are matched with an industry professional based on their individual career goals, who will mentor them personally. This mentoring will helps them build the knowledge and network that will benefit their careers for years to come.
  3. IGNITE!: This is our annual student organized industry festival where students engage with corporate leaders throughout the week while exploring careers in various industries like finance, media, retail, FMCG and others.
  4. Summer Industry Project (SIP): After the second semester, students will undergo a 3 month long internship with a top company in India. Each company gives them strategic project to undertake, which will be utilized by them in their business. The SIP experience gives them invaluable experience on working in the corporate world, which will help them in their first job after graduation. Some of the companies in which our students have done their SIP include:
  1. Industry Newsletter (Centre Piece): SIMT keeps in regular touch with industry through our bi monthly newsletter called Centerpiece. This is full of articles about innovations in industry along with sharing the latest news about Institution. It has been well received by our industry readers.
